Sociology
Welcome to the Sociology department
Sociology
Sociology provides students with the opportunity to study the sociology of families, education, crime and deviance and social stratification. Essentially this means investigating trends and patterns in society, whilst applying sociological theories as to why these trends and patterns are happening.
Students will develop their understanding of complex social structures, empirical investigation and constructing balanced arguments, as well strengthening their analytical and research skills.
Assessment: 2 exams worth 50% of the overall mark each
