Monday 7 October 2024 Year 6 Tag Rugby On Thursday, the Year 6 boys played in a Tag Rugby competition at Medina College. The team had lots of practice in their PE lessons, and were ready to take what they had learned into the matches. They played against 6 other schools in 7-minute matches. Despite narrowly losing their first match against Holy Cross 2-1, the team took a lot of positives from that game into the rest of the games. Next, they drew 3-3 to Priory followed by two loses to Carisbrooke and Queensgate. The boys finished on a high with two wins, 1-0 against Brighstone and 4-0 versus Hunnyhill. During the tournament there were some fantastic passages of play, excellent teamwork & some brilliant tries scored by Eli, Boaz, Reuben & Agnel. Overall, the boys did fantastically, having never played a competitive Tag Rugby match before. Well done The Bay!

Thursday 25 May 2023 Cricket Festival On Thursday before half term, some of the KS2 children got an opportunity to take part in a cricket festival at Shanklin & Godshill Cricket Club. In the morning, some Year 3/4s did a circuit of different activities that focused on the key skills in cricket; batting, bowling, overarm throwing, and running. The children said their favourite game was ‘Brilliant bowler’, where they tried to see how many times they could bowl and hit the stumps.

Thursday 18 May 2023 Cross Country On Thursday afternoon, children from across KS2 took part in the East Wight Cross Country competition at Bembridge’s Steyne Park. It was a truly wonderful event with The Bay not only showing off their running talent, but their team spirit. Throughout each race, which was 2 laps of a 500m track, the team’s support for one another was amazing, and this helped to push the runners on to try their very best. In their races, all of the children showed real resilience, even when starting to tire, and in the relays they all worked collaboratively as a team.
