Year 6 Tag Rugby
On Thursday afternoon the Year 6 girls took part in a Tag Rugby competition at Queensgate. The girls were placed in a strong group with Greenmount and Gurnard. The team drew 3-3 in their first game with Greenmount, and beat Gurnard 2-1. In the second round of group matches they drew 3-3 again with Greenmount, and this time beat Gurnard 3-2. Therefore, the girls topped their group. They then went onto play another match against Nettlestone. A strong performance from the girls gave them a 2-1 win, and a place in next Thursday’s island final. There were tries throughout the matches for Neve, Roseanne, Lottie, Sienna, Millie, Grace & Emmie.
The performance by all the girls was phenomenal considering most of them had never played a competitive Tag Rugby match before. They took the skills and rules learnt during their PE lessons, and applied them brilliantly making the matches very exciting to watch.
We wish you all the best in the finals next week. Go The Bay!
