The Bay CE School

U11 Cricket

On Tuesday the U11 girls cricket team travelled to Shalfleet to play a double header against both Shalfleet and Broadlea in their group stage. The girls played Broadlea first, and started off by bowling. The girl’s bowling was very strong and they gave away limited no balls, so managed to keep Broadleas score low. The batting was just as good from The Bay with each batting pair managing to hit the boundary at least once in during their turn. The match finished with Broadlea having 66 runs, and The Bay having 90!

The Bay then played Shalfleet and their batting and bowling improved from the previous game. The Bay batted first this time, with again each batting pair hitting the boundary at least once during their turn, and Tilly even hitting for 6 runs. The girls, having time to relax and focus on their bowling technique, gave away even less no balls in the match. Imogen bowled a lovely ball that hit the wicket to get the Shalfleet player out. Shalfleet finished the match with 44 runs, and The Bay finished with 85! Two brilliant matches, and some great performances from the U11 girls. They look forward to playing their quarter final after half term.
