Island Indoor Rowing Champions!

Success at the IOW Schools Indoor Rowing Championships..

Congratulations to our amazing Indoor rowing team who smashed the opposition at the recent IOW Schools event, winning  by our biggest margin to date -49 points!

This victory was not down to chance – most of the competitors have been in training for this event since September and their dedication was duly rewarded and the win well-deserved. We won all but one age group competition and relay event ! Five of our athletes - Sonny, Alfie, Freddie, Connie and Evie came away with three gold medals each!

It was a huge team effort so a big pat on the back and a well done to all our team …

Year 7: Harry B, Sonny E, Marko M, Cara W and Georgia K.

Year 8: Rosie L, Connie B-S, Stanley P and Coby N.

Year 9: Freddie L, Alfie S, Izzy B and Layla K.

Year 10: Isaac K, Matthew M, Finn D, Evie S and Freya J.

Year 11: Jack D, Caleb D, Tommy Y, Michael M, Keira J and Evie C.

A special mention to Coby N, Finn D and Michael M who stepped in as super-subs and showed grit and determination and gave incredible performances

Many of our athletes now go on to compete in London next week at the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships in London. We wish them good luck and confidence in facing the best rowers in the country.
