Wednesday 10 January 2024 Year 7 Indoor Football Indoor Champions Our Year 7 boys were crowned indoor football champions this afternoon after a fantastic tournament at Medina leisure centre. We played some brilliant football and showed excellent togetherness throughout. Especially when we knew going into the last game of the tournament, with everyone watching, only a win and a +3 goal difference was enough to take the crown. We were 3-1 up going into the last seconds of the tournament needing 1 goal to win it… up stepped our talisman Jaxson N with a wonderful half volley into the bottom corner in the last seconds to clinch victory for the boys! Thoroughly deserved and a fantastic achievement lads. Well done, we’re very proud of you.

Friday 23 June 2023 Natural History Museum Trip Year 5 had an utterly captivating day at the Natural History Museum, exploring a bountiful array of magnificent exhibits that brought the wonders of our planet to life. From getting up close and personal with titanosaurus - the latest addition to the museum's collection - to marveling at the spectacular underwater and land animals, children were enthralled by the breathtaking diversity of the natural world. And as if that wasn't enough, they even had the thrilling opportunity of encountering a range of prehistoric dinosaurs and creepy insects, adding even more excitement and depth to their experience. Now, as we settle into our seats on the coach, exhausted but exhilarated after an early start and a long day of adventure and discovery, we reflect on the amazing memories we've made, and the invaluable lessons we've learned about the preciousness and fragility of our planet.

Thursday 20 April 2023 U10 Cup Champions After the success of winning the league, the U10’s played Gurnard in the Cup final on Thursday afternoon. Having played Gurnard last year, the boys knew they were strong opposition. Both teams started well, and were very evenly matched throughout the game. Callum had an opportunity in the opening minutes to sneak the ball in at the far post but it went just wide, this was followed by Max making a terrific save when their striker was through 1v1. Bobby saw a shot go wide of the post, and as the boys went into the second half the Gurnard goalkeeper made a brilliant double save after Tony followed in Kian’s shot. Tony saw two headers go just over the bar from two corners deep into the second half. The match ended 0-0, and saw the boys go into extra time. The Bay kept working hard, the goals just wouldn’t come, Callum saw another opportunity go just wide, and with seconds before the final whistle Kian’s shot was saved. The team started well with a 7-4 win over Carisbrooke College followed by a 13-4 win over a competitive CTK team. After a short break the boys played a well drilled Medina and lost 9-4. Going into the final game against Cowes, they boys needed a win to stand a chance of winning overall, which they comfortably did 9-2. This meant 3 teams were left level on points. In the 3-way free throw competition we narrowly lost to Medina but beat CTK, which secured second place overall. MVP Ailbe F. Well done boys.

Then played a semi final against a strong Priory team, which we managed to win by just 1 basket (9-6). This set up a return fixture with Ryde Academy in the final, which we dominated from start to finish, winning the overall competition unbeaten. Friday 3 March 2023 U10 Boys League After securing their place in the final of the cup, the U10 boys looked to do the same in the league. They played Nine Acres at home in the semi final of the league. The game started well, with the boys having a lot of the ball. After continued pressure from Callum, he managed to get the ball back deep into their half, and played a lovely ball for Kian to put in the back of the net. Callum got his opportunity to score only minutes later after Tony sent a great ball through to him. Right at the end of the first half the Nine Acres keeper made two fantastic saves. Into the second half, The Bay had a corner that Isaac headed beautifully just over the keepers head. After beginning to tire towards the end of the game, Nine Acres scored a rocket, to finish the game 3-1. The Bay are through to the league final - Good Luck boys!

Wednesday 18 January 2023 U10 League The U10 boys played their final league game of the season on Tuesday. They welcomed Greenmount, who they had recently beaten in the cup quarter finals. Greenmount kicked off, and before The Bay had a chance to touch the ball had scored, but within less than two minutes, The Bay were in the lead with a corner that was deflected in, and a cross from Harry which went in off a defender. After an exciting few minutes both teams settled into the game, with The Bay playing some very nice football. Just before halftime, the opposition's striker lobbed the ball over keeper Max. At the start of the second half, The Bay struck early with Callum slotting the ball past the keeper into the far corner. It wasn’t long before Kian sent a long ball from deep in his half up to Callum, who controlled it beautifully before scoring again. Greenmount were making the boys work hard, and scored another goal, before Callum scored a hat trick. In the last minutes of the match Greenmount scored a fantastic

Friday 25 November 2022 U9 Football Cup After the U9s won against Barton in the cup before half term, it was time to play Gurnard in the next round. The Bay had a number of chances in the first half with Eli and Charlie narrowly missing the goal. Gurnard kept attacking, and were rewarded with a goal near the end of the first half. In the second half, The Bay defended well, and Mario made a couple of good saves, unfortunately this didn’t stop Gurnard scoring another 3 goals. The Bay began to tire, but this didn’t stop them trying to push forward and attack in the final few minutes. It was a very strong Gurnard team, and The Bay battled hard in the wind and rain throughout the match, working as a team. The team look forward to their next league game in the coming weeks.

Saturday 19 November 2022 U10 Boys League On Thursday afternoon, the U10 boys travelled to Ryde School to play their next league game. The boys started really well and within the first minute Harry scored a rocket from outside the box. Just a few minutes later he doubled his tally with a tap-in at the near post. The goals kept on coming for the boys, with Callum, and Tony both scoring as well as a brace from Isaac all before half time. At half time the positions of some of the players were moved around, to give the boys a chance to try where they don’t often play. Ryde started well in the second half and had a couple of opportunities, but that didn’t stop The Bay, with Bobby, William, and Callum all scoring in the second half. Well done to Billy and Max, who despite not scoring worked brilliantly, and often set their teammates up with scoring opportunities. A great 10-0 win in the end, and the boys look forward to their upcoming cup game against Greenmount.

Tuesday 20 September 2022 U11 Football The U11 boys travelled to Gurnard on Thursday to play in their cup match. They started off really well against a strong team, they had a lot of possession and even got Riley M through on goal a few times. Hayden made some great saves in goal, but Gurnard managed to sneak a goal in at the end of the first half. In the second half, Gurnard continued to attack and The Bay conceded another 4 goals, the boys worked really hard until the final whistle trying to break down the Gurnard defence. Filip narrowly missed the top corner with a rocket of a shot outside the box. Despite the loss, The Bay worked really well as a team. The boys start their league campaign later this half term.
