Crisis Messenger

Do you need help now? The Mix.org.uk crisis messenger text service provides free, 24/7 crisis support across the UK. If you’re aged 25 or under, and are experiencing any painful emotion or are in crisis, you can text THEMIX to 85258.

We know that finding the right support is important, especially if you need someone to talk to right now. We aim to connect every texter to a trained volunteer in less than five minutes to provide crisis help. They will listen to you and help you think more clearly, enabling you to know that you can take the next step to feeling better. This service is delivered in partnership with Crisis Text Line and Shout.

Educational Mental Health Practitioner - Aaron Youngson-Haynes

Hello, I'm Aaron an Educational Mental Health Practitioner working within The Bay CE Secondary School. I am a part of the Mental Health Support Team that visits Primary and Secondary schools on the Isle of Wight offering support for young people with mild to moderate mental health struggles. The team is a collaboration of the NHS, Barnardo's, and the Youth Trust working together to deliver a Tier 1 Children’s Mental Health Service. The support we offer varies from Low Intensity CBT parent led group work, assemblies, and workshops to support parents, young people, and staff.

Young people's mental health has always been a passion of mine and given that I used to attend this school myself, it only seemed fitting that I come back and offer my support!
